GLP-1 / incretin
Retatrutide
Phase 2 human RCT, Phase 3 ongoing
Investigational (Phase 3). Not approved anywhere.
What's actually proven
- ✓Triple agonist (GLP-1, GIP, glucagon). In a 48-week Phase 2 trial, the 12 mg dose produced ~24% average body-weight loss vs ~2% placebo.
- ✓Improved HbA1c, blood pressure and liver fat in trial participants.
The bullshit / overstated
- ✗"Better than Tirzepatide" — no head-to-head trial exists yet.
- ✗Grey-market vials are not the Lilly drug. Purity and dose are unverified; you may not be getting what the label says.
- ✗"Preserves muscle" — like all GLP-1s, a chunk of weight lost is lean mass. Lift and eat protein.
Side effects
- •Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation (dose-dependent)
- •Raised heart rate
- •Skin tingling (dysaesthesia) reported at higher doses
- •Gallbladder issues with rapid loss
